“The best color in the whole world is the one that looks good on you.“
-Coco Chanel
Hi, Sassy fam! I came across this quote today and I had to share it with you. All my fashionistas may be able to relate when I say that choosing colors that compliment your skin tone and personality is key. Wearing certain colors can have a significant impact on our complexion, either enhancing its natural radiance or making it look dull.
In addition, certain colors can have a positive impact on our personality. For example, some colors can make us feel more bold, confident, or outgoing. It’s amazing how much impact colors can have on our overall mood and attitude.
Always remember to choose colors that make you feel fabulous inside and out. I truly believe that the energy we put out into the world is the same energy we attract back to us. It’s important to always try to radiate positivity, kindness, and love. When we do so, we are more likely to attract those same qualities in the people and experiences that come into our lives.
It’s a powerful concept, and one that has helped me stay grounded and focused on being my best self. Let’s show up in the world as the woman we are becoming and not who we once were. Who’s ready to rise and slay another day in fashion with me?
Hi, my spiritual family! I’ve been in a season of growth. My faith is being tested to the point where the only thing I can do is put my trust in God when it seems like everything around me is beyond my control. Let this scripture encourage and remind you that you are not alone in challenging times. In these times, we must draw closer to him for strength to overcome any challenge or obstacle that may come our way.
In periods of uncertainty, we must re-train our minds to focus on the plans God has placed in our hearts and tune out the voices of doubt, fear, and worry. We must be still and listen for his voice to comfort, guide, and unveil the next step to take on our journey. Remember that the obstacles we overcome are shaping us into the version of ourselves that God desires for us to become.
As I look back over my life, I can’t recall a time that God has failed me, even when the situation seemed overwhelming and impossible to overcome. With God, all things are made possible if we open our hearts to believe it and let his word order our steps to reach the promise.
“Rejoice Always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
Hi my spiritual family! Please let this scripture be a reminder that we must praise, pray, and give thanks at all times. These actions activate our joy, peace, and victory.
Through praise we honor, express joy, and gratitude to God for all that he has done, is doing, and will do in our lives. Keeping our hearts in a posture of praise brings deliverance and unlocks blessings.
Praying allows us to open up our hearts to God and consistently communicate with him. He will lead and guide us every step of the journey he has assigned us to go on if we seek him.
Giving thanks to God for the blessings and disappointments positions our hearts to stay in a place of humility and mindfulness. This helps us shift our minds to focus on his plan an the promise that he has placed in our hearts.
We can then surrender our will and look to him to give us unspeakable joy, and peace of mind, and perfect the work he started in our lives. Who is ready to activate their joy, peace, and victory with me?
I have some words of encouragement from my heart to share with you. At times you will miss your dad, but you must always remember that he is watching over you from heaven. His contagious smile, fearless spirit, and kind heart lives through you. You were his precious gift. You must remember your value.
In those times when you feel like you don’t fit in, worthy, or loved remember that God loves you. You were fearfully and wonderfully made for his purpose. You are enough and perfect just the way you are.
There will be challenges and disappointments that come to distract you and discourage you from speaking your truth, walking in your purpose.
You must learn to put your faith and trust in God. He will recenter your focus and give you strength to keep going forward on your purpose journey.
Be sure to forgive those who may hurt you along your journey. This is necessary for your heart to heal and to unblock the blessings that are yet to come!
Things may not make since to you now, but as you grow older, God will reveal to you why everything happened in your life, good and bad. Your life is like a puzzle and each piece fits together to create the bigger picture.
People, places, and things that are meant to go with you on your path will align in his timing to help you grow gracefully into the woman you are destined to become.
Hi, Sassy squad! February, the month of love is quickly approaching and I wanted to share with you what was laid on my heart. On my self-love journey, I have been unlearning all that I once knew about love. I once thought that love was putting others’ desires and needs above myself. I was so afraid of losing people in my life that I went out of my way to make them happy while losing myself in the process. God healed my heart by first reminding me how much he loves me and teaching me how to love myself.
"We love because he first loved us."
1 John 4:19 NIV
After discovering self-love, he helped me to see that I am worthy of receiving the love that I give to others. He helped me discover that the only way to receive the type of love I desire, is to strive to be a reflection of the love that I desire by releasing anything that is unclean in my heart. I took accountability and began the deeper healing work by forgiving myself and others who have hurt me.
This wasn’t easy, but throughout the healing process, God kept reminding me that he wants the best for me and for me to become the best version of myself. He revealed to me that healing is necessary to live a life of peace, freedom, and to unblock the blessings that he has in store for me.
"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Proverbs 4:23 NIV
My heart is renewed, open, and ready to accept love as my higher self, the woman I am becoming. I have a healthier perspective on love. It is truly a gift that can not be controlled or contained. It is meant to be reciprocated and not one-sided. It is not meant to be chased, but it will find me at its appointed time. In love, there is value and respect. There is compassion, patience, and safety. God is love. We were created in his image. Love is you and me!

I remember thinking that waiting on something from God meant praying to him about what you want him to bless you with and sitting still waiting for it to come to pass. I now realize that one should not sit still and focus on receiving the blessing, but one must get in preparation for it while waiting. I am the type of person that likes to jump to the end of a book or movie and then go back to read the beginning. I never noticed it, but this is my way of staying in control of the end outcome and preparing how to react to surprises that may occur in between. This is not the way that God reveals his plan for our lives to us.
Instead, he reveals his plan to us in parts. Each part is what you need in the present moment to help you reach the next step on your purpose journey. He also showed me during the waiting that in order for him to allow the blessings to flow in my life, I must surrender my will, have faith, and trust in him to do the rest.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth”.
Psalms 46:10 KJV
God is sovereign. He is in control of every aspect of our lives. We must move out of the way and let God complete the great work in our lives that he started when he created us. Remember that he wants the best for us and for us to become the best versions of ourselves. We can only surrender to God and completely trust in him when we study and learn who He is. As I began reading his word and talking to God during the waiting period, my faith and trust in him increased.
As I began to get closer to him, he revealed to me the purpose he was preparing me for. Every experience that has happened in my life has prepared me for such a moment and time as this. At times on this purpose journey, I wanted to give up and even doubted that I was equipped to be used by God. But God has a sense of humor. He shook things up in my life and placed me in a valley to spring forth new life in me.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk; and not faint”.
Isaiah 40:31 KJV
God is reminding us that if we continue to trust in him and center our minds on him, he will restore our strength in times of weakness and when our hope is lost. I hope that you take away from this that it is imperative to enjoy the periods of waiting and take this time to reflect on who God is and his goodness. In time, he will connect the dots and align your life with his purpose for you. Remember that he is preparing you for greatness and adding to your testimony to inspire others. Trust and have faith in him to finish the great work he has begun in your life.
I hope your morning is off to a good start! Here’s a song that I came across that I wanted to share with you! Many times I had to remind myself that I am enough. To keep the theme of embracing the real you going, this song is a must listen! Hopefully this song will remind you how amazing, strong, unique, and valuable you are! Enjoy!
I’ve stumbled across new music that I wanted to share with you! If you haven’t streamed or bought “Kierra”, Kierra Sheard’s new album, this is a must have in your music collection. This whole album has given me life, but the song that I resonates with me in this time is “Something Has To Break”.
