Soul Food🙏🏾🪴🧡…A Heart of Thanksgiving

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”

~Psalm 136:1

Happy Thanksgiving, family! I hope you all are enjoying the holiday and finding moments to slow down, breathe, and reflect. While reflecting, it was laid on my heart to share with you what this holiday means to me. Thanksgiving isn’t just a holiday, it’s a heart posture.

It’s a slowing down long enough to notice God’s goodness in each day, even the ones that felt heavy.

Psalm 136:1 reminds us to recall His faithfulness, the doors He opened, the peace He whispered, and the strength He poured into us when we felt empty. His love doesn’t waver with circumstances or emotions. It remains strong, steady, and sure. Giving thanks doesn’t mean we ignore our struggles, it means we recognize God’s presence within them. Gratitude shifts our focus from what is missing to what God has already done, and continues to do.

So today, let this verse become your anchor. Wherever you are, whatever the day holds, choose to give thanks. Not because everything is perfect, but because God is always good.

Prayer:

Father, thank You for Your unending love and goodness over my life. Help me pause long enough to see Your fingerprints in every season; the joyful, the challenging, and the quiet in-between moments. Teach my heart to live with open hands and a grateful spirit. Let thanksgiving not be just a word I speak, but a rhythm I live. You are good, and Your love truly endures forever. Amen.

Reflection:

What is one specific thing, big or small, that you can intentionally thank God for today, even if it doesn’t feel easy?

Take a moment to write it down. Speak it. Pray it. Let it settle into your heart.

Choose one way to express gratitude today. Let gratitude move beyond thought, into action.

Because His love endures forever and so can your praise.

Live Faithfully and Give Thanks!

Sassy Mindset💋…The Power of “Now”

Hello Sassy family! Have you ever caught yourself daydreaming about the life you want; more peace, more confidence, more joy, but feeling unsure of how to actually get there? Maybe you’ve been waiting for the perfect timing, the right opportunity, or the moment when everything finally “falls into place.” If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. So many of us stand on the edge of our potential, not realizing that the doorway to our future is found in the choices we make today.

Emily Dickinson’s quote, “The future is composed of the nows,” is a great reminder that our future isn’t something far away; it’s being shaped in every moment we choose courage, grace, and intention.

Instead of waiting for the “perfect time,” the right opportunity, or someone’s approval, Dickinson reminds us that the life we desire begins with what we do today. Every small decision: setting a boundary, speaking up, prioritizing self-care, pursuing a dream creates ripples that build the future we’re hoping for.

Let this truth empower you to step into your worth right now. Not when things feel easier. Not when life slows down. Not when we “feel ready.”

But now.

When we honor the present, we honor ourselves. And when women honor themselves, the future becomes brighter, stronger, and more aligned with who we were always meant to be.

Take a moment today to choose one meaningful action; no matter how small that reflects the future you want. Write it down, speak it out loud, Your “now” matters more than you know.

Daily Affirmation💋

“I honor my present, I shape my future, and every step I take today moves me closer to the woman I’m becoming.”

Soul Food🙏🏾🪴💗…Covered in Calm: Embracing God’s Peace in Every Season

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”. ~Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

Hello family! Have you ever caught yourself lying awake at night, replaying the same worries over and over, wondering if this will finally be the thing that breaks you? We’ve all been there. So here’s the question: What do you tend to do first when anxiety shows up: panic, shut down, or try to fix everything yourself?

Philippians 4:6–7 reminds us that there is a better way to face anxiety whenever it tries to rise in our lives.

Instead of carrying the weight alone, we must bring every burden, big or small, before God through prayer and honest conversation. When we choose prayer over panic, surrender over spiraling, something powerful happens: God exchanges our anxiety for His peace. Not a temporary calm or a quick emotional fix, but a deep, guarding peace that covers our hearts and minds like a shield.

This passage is a gentle reminder that peace isn’t found in perfect circumstances; it’s found in God’s presence. When we release what we can’t control, we make room for the peace that surpasses all understanding to settle in.

Reflection:

What worry can you hand over to God today?

Affirmation:

I choose prayer over panic, and God’s peace covers me completely.

“Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.

From the end of the earth I will cry to You,

When my heart is overwhelmed;

Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For You have been a shelter for me,

A strong tower from the enemy.”

~Psalm 61:1–3 (NKJV)

Hello family! Let’s be honest there are days when life just feels heavy. You’re doing your best to keep it together, but inside, your heart feels overwhelmed. Maybe it’s the endless to-do list, the heartbreak you didn’t see coming, or the quiet moments where you wonder if anyone really understands.

If that’s you today, take a deep breath because Psalm 61 is your reminder that you don’t have to be strong on your own.

David didn’t hide his struggle. He cried out to God and said, “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” I love that. He wasn’t asking for all the answers; he was asking to be lifted higher above the noise, above the fear, above the weight of it all.

You don’t have to fix every problem or hold everything together. God is your Rock, your Shelter, your Safe Place. He’s not asking you to do more; He’s inviting you to rest in Him.

So today, instead of trying to carry it all, take your weary heart and lean into His strength. Let Him lift you higher.

Reflection:

When your heart feels overwhelmed, where do you turn first and how can you remind yourself to turn to God as your Rock and Shelter this week?

Prayer:

When my heart feels heavy and my strength fades, lead me to You; the Rock that is higher than I. Thank You for being my refuge, my shelter, and my safe place. Help me release what I cannot control and rest in Your presence. Remind me that I am never alone, even in my most overwhelmed moments. Strengthen my faith and steady my heart in You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I’d love to hear from you, Sassy family! 💕

Savvy Reflections🩷…How Has Your View of Love Changed Over the Years?

Hello Sassy family! Have you ever caught yourself thinking about how your view of love has changed over the years? This question came to me recently as I was reflecting on my own journey, learning self-love, setting boundaries, and becoming the best version of me. Somewhere along the way, I realized that the way I understand and express love has evolved just as much as I have.

When I look back at how I viewed love in my younger days, I can only laugh and maybe cry a little. I really thought love meant proving my worth instead of knowing it. I believed love meant being chosen, that someone else’s attention or affection somehow validated my worth.

Now, I see how deeply my younger self tied love to validation instead of value. She didn’t yet know that love begins within, that you teach others how to love you by how you love yourself.

With growth and healing, my perspective has softened and matured. Love today feels deeper, wiser, more intentional. It’s not about perfection or constant validation ; it’s about peace, honesty, and presence. It’s showing up for each other, communicating through the tough moments, and choosing love every single day.

Love now looks like partnership, not possession. It’s not about being rescued; it’s about being respected. It’s a safe place to grow, not a battlefield to prove your worth.

The more I’ve learned to truly love myself, the more I’ve understood what real love should feel like. It’s not about losing yourself to be loved; it’s about loving yourself enough to never shrink again.

So tell me, Sassy family, how has your view of love changed as you’ve grown, healed, and learned more about yourself?

Drop your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear how your heart has evolved too.

Affirmation:
“I am no longer waiting to be chosen. I choose myself fully, freely, and with love.”

Sassy Mindset💋…. Rising Above What You Can’t Control

Hello Sassy family! Let’s be real, life doesn’t always go the way we planned. Sometimes you think you’ve got everything under control, and then something unexpected knocks the wind out of you. Maybe it’s a job loss, a painful realization, or a situation that left you asking, “Why me?”

We’ve all had those moments that make us feel small, powerless, or completely thrown off balance. But here’s the beautiful truth: even when we can’t control what happens to us, we can control how we show up in the middle of it.

That’s exactly what Maya Angelou reminds us of in one of her most powerful quotes:

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou

Those words hit differently when life gets messy.

Because the truth is, there’s so much we can’t control. People will disappoint us, plans will fall apart, and life will throw curveballs we never saw coming. But every challenge gives us a choice: to let it break us down or build us up.

You have the power to decide whether your hardships will define or refine you.

When you choose not to be reduced by what you’ve been through, you’re reclaiming your peace. You’re saying, “Yes, this hurt. Yes, it was hard. But it’s not going to shrink me.”

Choosing not to be reduced doesn’t mean pretending everything’s fine. It means giving yourself permission to feel it, process it, and still move forward with your head held high. It’s standing in your truth and refusing to let pain harden your heart. It’s believing that you can still shine, even when life tries to dim your light.

Remember this: the same fire that burns can also build character.

So if life has thrown you into the fire lately, don’t lose heart. You’re being shaped, strengthened, and prepared for something greater. You may not control the storm, but you can decide to rise from it stronger, wiser, and more grounded in who you are.

Don’t let life’s events reduce you. Let them reveal the resilient, unstoppable woman you were created to be.

Empowering Reflection:

What situation once tried to reduce you, but instead revealed your strength?

Soul Food🙏🏾🪴🩷: God’s Unstoppable Purposes

Hello family! Have you ever found yourself asking, “What is my true purpose in life?” Maybe you’ve wondered if you’re walking in the right direction, or if the plans you’ve made for your life really line up with God’s. That longing for clarity can feel overwhelming, but Job 42:2 reminds us of a powerful truth: “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”

Job’s declaration is both a confession of faith and a testimony of surrender. After walking through unimaginable suffering, Job finally acknowledges the sovereignty of God. For women today, this verse is a beautiful reminder that no matter what season of life we are in, whether joy-filled or heart-wrenching, God’s plans remain unshaken. His purposes cannot be stopped by circumstances, setbacks, or even our own missteps.

When we feel uncertain about our purpose, Job’s words invite us to rest in God’s perfect authority. Instead of striving to figure it all out on our own, we can trust that the One who created us is guiding our steps and weaving every detail into His greater story.

Reflection:

  • Are you searching for purpose in your own strength rather than seeking God’s guidance?
  • Do you trust that His plans for your life are unfolding, even when you can’t see them clearly?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You that nothing is impossible for You. Help me to rest in Your sovereignty and trust that Your purposes for my life are good and cannot be stopped. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk with confidence in Your plan. Amen.

Sassy Mindset💋…Dreams: Soul-Written Chapters of Your Future

Hello Sassy squad! Have you ever felt like your dreams are whispering something deeper about who you are becoming? I came across a quote that I had to share with you. It is a powerful reminder that your dreams, both the ones that come at night and the ones you hold in your heart, aren’t random. They’re glimpses of your purpose, passion, and potential.

Your soul is the author, and your life is the unfolding story. Every dream is a preview of what’s possible when you walk in alignment with your deepest truth. These dreams carry the voice of your inner wisdom before the world sees what’s written in your heart. That business idea, the book you want to write, the community you want to build, the love you want to share are not accidents. They are the soul’s narrative waiting to be lived out.

This quote calls you to listen more closely, believe more boldly, and walk more confidently. When you honor your dreams, you’re not chasing fantasies, you’re turning the pages of the story your soul is already writing.

Empowering Reflection:

What dream keeps nudging your spirit, no matter how much time passes? Could it be the next chapter your soul is ready to write?

Soul Food 🙏🏾🪴💗…Built For More: Standing on Purpose

So I sent messengers to them saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”

Nehemiah 6:3 NKJV

Hello family! Have you ever been so focused on something or finishing a project that you didn’t want to stop until it was done? You ignored the calls, the distractions, and maybe even the urge to quit, because deep down you knew it mattered. That’s exactly the kind of determination Nehemiah had in Nehemiah 6:3, where he says, “I am doing a great work and I cannot come down.”

This powerful verse was shared with me last week, and now I feel led to share it with you. I pray it encourages anyone who is doing a great work but finds themselves facing distractions meant to break your focus and keep you from finishing.

It is more than a statement, it’s a mindset. Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, and when distractions came, he refused to be pulled away from his assignment. His response wasn’t rooted in arrogance—it was grounded in purpose.

This verse speaks directly to your journey. Whether you’re building a business, launching a vision, healing your heart, or stepping into new territory… you are doing a great work. And like Nehemiah, you don’t have time to come down.

Let this encourage you to stay focused, guard your purpose. Don’t let anything pull you away from it. Your calling is too important. Your growth is too sacred. You don’t need to prove yourself…just keep building. Stay focused, stay faithful—what you’re building matters, and it’s worth finishing.

You are doing a great work. And you cannot come down.

Live faithfully!

💗Ronni Lauren
