Sassy Reflections🩷: How Has Your View of Love Changed Over the Years?

Hello Sassy family! Have you ever caught yourself thinking about how your view of love has changed over the years? This question came to me recently as I was reflecting on my own journey, learning self-love, setting boundaries, and becoming the best version of me. Somewhere along the way, I realized that the way I understand and express love has evolved just as much as I have.

When I look back at how I viewed love in my younger days, I can only laugh and maybe cry a little. I really thought love meant proving my worth instead of knowing it. I believed love meant being chosen, that someone else’s attention or affection somehow validated my worth.

Now, I see how deeply my younger self tied love to validation instead of value. She didn’t yet know that love begins within, that you teach others how to love you by how you love yourself.

With growth and healing, my perspective has softened and matured. Love today feels deeper, wiser, more intentional. It’s not about perfection or constant validation ; it’s about peace, honesty, and presence. It’s showing up for each other, communicating through the tough moments, and choosing love every single day.

Love now looks like partnership, not possession. It’s not about being rescued; it’s about being respected. It’s a safe place to grow, not a battlefield to prove your worth.

The more I’ve learned to truly love myself, the more I’ve understood what real love should feel like. It’s not about losing yourself to be loved; it’s about loving yourself enough to never shrink again.

So tell me, Sassy family, how has your view of love changed as you’ve grown, healed, and learned more about yourself?

Drop your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear how your heart has evolved too.

Affirmation:
“I am no longer waiting to be chosen. I choose myself fully, freely, and with love.”

Sassy State Of Mind💋…. Rising Above What You Can’t Control

Hello Sassy family! Let’s be real, life doesn’t always go the way we planned. Sometimes you think you’ve got everything under control, and then something unexpected knocks the wind out of you. Maybe it’s a job loss, a painful realization, or a situation that left you asking, “Why me?”

We’ve all had those moments that make us feel small, powerless, or completely thrown off balance. But here’s the beautiful truth: even when we can’t control what happens to us, we can control how we show up in the middle of it.

That’s exactly what Maya Angelou reminds us of in one of her most powerful quotes:

“You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.” – Maya Angelou

Those words hit differently when life gets messy.

Because the truth is, there’s so much we can’t control. People will disappoint us, plans will fall apart, and life will throw curveballs we never saw coming. But every challenge gives us a choice: to let it break us down or build us up.

You have the power to decide whether your hardships will define or refine you.

When you choose not to be reduced by what you’ve been through, you’re reclaiming your peace. You’re saying, “Yes, this hurt. Yes, it was hard. But it’s not going to shrink me.”

Choosing not to be reduced doesn’t mean pretending everything’s fine. It means giving yourself permission to feel it, process it, and still move forward with your head held high. It’s standing in your truth and refusing to let pain harden your heart. It’s believing that you can still shine, even when life tries to dim your light.

Remember this: the same fire that burns can also build character.

So if life has thrown you into the fire lately, don’t lose heart. You’re being shaped, strengthened, and prepared for something greater. You may not control the storm, but you can decide to rise from it stronger, wiser, and more grounded in who you are.

Don’t let life’s events reduce you. Let them reveal the resilient, unstoppable woman you were created to be.

Empowering Reflection:

What situation once tried to reduce you, but instead revealed your strength?

Live Fearless and Be Unstoppable!

“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” — Daniel 12:3 (NKJV)

Hello family! In a world that often celebrates temporary fame and fleeting success, Daniel 12:3 reminds us of a different kind of shine that never fades. God calls us to live with wisdom and purpose, to reflect His light in everything we do.

When our hearts are aligned with His, our lives become beacons of hope that guide others toward righteousness. This isn’t just about shining for a moment, it’s about leaving an eternal glow that points back to Him.

A life lived for God never goes unnoticed. True wisdom isn’t about knowing it all, it’s about walking closely with God and reflecting His light in a dark world. When we choose to live with integrity, faith, and love, our influence becomes eternal.

Every encouraging word, every act of kindness, every moment spent guiding someone closer to God makes us shine brighter in His eyes. Just like stars that never lose their light, your faith-filled impact will continue to glow long after your time here on earth.

Prayer:

Lord, help me to live a life that shines with Your wisdom and love. Use my words and actions to lead others toward You, and let my light reflect Your glory forever. Amen.

Reflection Question:

How can you shine God’s light today in a way that points someone else toward Him?

Live faithfully! Let your light shine!

Hello family! Have you ever found yourself asking, “What is my true purpose in life?” Maybe you’ve wondered if you’re walking in the right direction, or if the plans you’ve made for your life really line up with God’s. That longing for clarity can feel overwhelming, but Job 42:2 reminds us of a powerful truth: “I know that You can do everything, and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”

Job’s declaration is both a confession of faith and a testimony of surrender. After walking through unimaginable suffering, Job finally acknowledges the sovereignty of God. For women today, this verse is a beautiful reminder that no matter what season of life we are in, whether joy-filled or heart-wrenching, God’s plans remain unshaken. His purposes cannot be stopped by circumstances, setbacks, or even our own missteps.

When we feel uncertain about our purpose, Job’s words invite us to rest in God’s perfect authority. Instead of striving to figure it all out on our own, we can trust that the One who created us is guiding our steps and weaving every detail into His greater story.

Reflection:

  • Are you searching for purpose in your own strength rather than seeking God’s guidance?
  • Do you trust that His plans for your life are unfolding, even when you can’t see them clearly?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You that nothing is impossible for You. Help me to rest in Your sovereignty and trust that Your purposes for my life are good and cannot be stopped. Strengthen my faith so that I may walk with confidence in Your plan. Amen.

Live Faithfully!

So I sent messengers to them saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?”

Nehemiah 6:3 NKJV

Hello family! Have you ever been so focused on something or finishing a project that you didn’t want to stop until it was done? You ignored the calls, the distractions, and maybe even the urge to quit, because deep down you knew it mattered. That’s exactly the kind of determination Nehemiah had in Nehemiah 6:3, where he says, “I am doing a great work and I cannot come down.”

This powerful verse was shared with me last week, and now I feel led to share it with you. I pray it encourages anyone who is doing a great work but finds themselves facing distractions meant to break your focus and keep you from finishing.

It is more than a statement, it’s a mindset. Nehemiah was rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, and when distractions came, he refused to be pulled away from his assignment. His response wasn’t rooted in arrogance—it was grounded in purpose.

This verse speaks directly to your journey. Whether you’re building a business, launching a vision, healing your heart, or stepping into new territory… you are doing a great work. And like Nehemiah, you don’t have time to come down.

Let this encourage you to stay focused, guard your purpose. Don’t let anything pull you away from it. Your calling is too important. Your growth is too sacred. You don’t need to prove yourself…just keep building. Stay focused, stay faithful—what you’re building matters, and it’s worth finishing.

You are doing a great work. And you cannot come down.

Live faithfully!

More Than a Fairy Tale: Trusting God’s Promise for Love

Hello family! Have you ever felt like God placed a specific love story in your heart? A story so beautiful that it feels like something out of a fairy tale?

Lately, God has been gently reminding me of the promise He planted within me. He’s showing me that the love story He has for me will unfold like a fairy tale written by His hand, full of wonder, growth, and a love that’s worth the wait.

As a little girl, I would spend hours playing with dolls, creating my own worlds and storylines. I didn’t know it then, but even as a child, I was shaping what I believed a healthy relationship and family could look like. Through those playtime moments, I wasn’t just passing the time I was building the blueprint for the love I aspired to experience and the life I dreamed of living. I now realize that what I created was a reflection of what my heart deeply desired for myself.

Even now, God is showing me that the love story He’s placed in my heart is not just a childish dream. It’s a promise.

Fairy tales aren’t just about magical moments and happy endings. They’re about the journey, the challenges, the waiting, and the discovery. In every fairy tale, the main character often faces detours, obstacles, and moments of doubt. Sometimes, they feel overlooked, forgotten, or stuck in an in-between season, unsure if their story will ever unfold the way they hoped.

But what makes a fairy tale beautiful is that the Author always knows the ending.

God is reminding me to wait with the same kind of hope.

To wait with trust.

To wait with patience.

To believe that even in the waiting, my story is being written, and every chapter has purpose.

Sometimes waiting feels like standing on the sidelines, watching everyone else’s story unfold while wondering if mine was ever real. But God is teaching me that I don’t have to write the story myself. I don’t have to chase it, force it, or settle for something less. I just have to trust the One who is writing it.

The love story God placed in my heart will be one of adventure, authenticity, and deep connection…Like the best fairy tales, where love finds you in the most unexpected way, where the journey matters just as much as the ending, and where the story is even more beautiful than you imagined.

If God has placed a love story in your heart, trust that He’s not teasing you. He’s teaching you. Every season of waiting, every detour, and every quiet moment is part of a divine script only He could write. Don’t rush the Author.

The story He’s writing for you will be more beautiful, more meaningful, and more full of purpose than anything you could have imagined. Keep believing. Your fairy tale is unfolding…one faithful page at a time.

Live faithfully!

Love Always,

💗Ronni Lauren

Sassy State of Mind💋…Living for Breathtaking Moments

Hello Sassy family! Have you ever found yourself simply going through the motions, checking boxes, and wondering if you’re truly living or just existing? I struggle with this all of the time.

Maya Angelou’s quote is a reminder that challenges us to shift our focus from merely surviving to fully embracing the experiences that ignite our souls.

We often carry many roles—caregiver, leader, friend, partner, dreamer. In the midst of our responsibilities, it’s easy to get lost in routines and miss the extraordinary moments life offers. But Maya’s words call us higher. They invite us to seek out joy, wonder, purpose, and moments that make our hearts race—not just tasks that fill our calendars.

How Do We Create Breathtaking Moments?

Be Present: Life’s magic often happens in the little things—a makeover, witnessing a sunrise, a simple victory after hard work. Slow down and notice them.

Take Bold Steps: The moments that take our breath away often require courage. Say yes to the adventure, speak up for yourself, pursue the passion that scares you.

Celebrate Yourself: You are worthy of joy, love, and awe-filled experiences. Don’t postpone your happiness waiting for a perfect time.

Maya Angelou’s wisdom pushes us to stop counting the days and start making the days count. You don’t need grand, cinematic moments to live fully—you need authentic, intentional ones that remind you you’re alive.

So, what’s one thing you can do today that will take your breath away?

Start there. Live there. Your life is waiting.

Live on purpose!

Love Always,

💗Ronni Lauren

“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

-Proverbs 16:9 NIV

Hello, family! Have you ever made detailed plans for your life—mapped out steps and envisioned outcomes—only to find that God took you in a completely different direction? Perhaps you thought you knew the path, only to discover you were walking one you never expected. If this has happened to you, you’re not alone. Proverbs 16:9 gently reminds us of a deeper truth: while we plan our path, God ultimately establishes our steps.

I want to encourage both you and me that, even though we may not see His plans for our lives at this moment, He will reveal them to us in stages throughout our journey. Speaking from experience, facing the unknown and surrendering control is not easy. At times, your faith may feel like it is running on empty, but we must believe in the goodness and consistency of God’s character. Everything happens so we can evolve and grow for our good.

The truth is, our perspective is limited. We plan based on what we see, but God guides us based on what He knows. Surrendering to His direction does not mean we stop planning; rather, it means we hold our plans loosely and trust His wisdom above our own. It’s like drawing a map and then handing the compass to Someone who knows the terrain far better than we do.

Have you ever seen your plans completely fall apart, only to later realize that God was protecting you or redirecting you to something better? Proverbs 16:9 is often understood only in hindsight. The first part of the verse—“In their hearts humans plan their course”—acknowledges that planning is a natural and good part of our lives. We’re meant to be intentional with our time, relationships, and work. However, if we plan without God, we risk moving in a direction that leads us away from His best.

Inviting God into the planning process means praying before acting, listening before deciding, and trusting even when things don’t go the way we hoped. Every step we take, even the ones that feel like detours, is guided by a God who sees the full picture.

Reflection Questions:

  • Have you experienced a time when your plans were redirected by God?
  • How do you typically respond when things don’t go according to your plan?
  • What’s one way you can invite God into your planning this week?

A Prayer:

Lord, I bring my plans before You today. I lay down my desire for control and invite You to direct my steps. Help me to trust that Your way is always better, even when it looks different from mine. Thank You for being the One who guides my path. Amen.

Be Encouraged and Live Faithfully!

Love,

Ronni Lauren💗
