Embracing the New Year: Lessons from 2025 & Choosing Priorities Over Resolutions🎉

Happy New Year family! As the calendar turns and the noise of “new year, new you” gets louder, I find myself asking a different question: What if this year isn’t about becoming someone new, but about becoming more intentional? Instead of rushing to set resolutions, I’ve been reflecting on the year I’m leaving behind, the lessons that shaped me, the moments that stretched me, and the growth that didn’t always look the way I expected.

2025 reminded me that growth is rarely loud. Sometimes it happens quietly through patience learned the hard way, boundaries set with courage, and faith strengthened in seasons of uncertainty. I learned that not every loss is a failure and not every delay is denial. Some things had to fall apart so better things could take shape. And some lessons only came when I stopped fighting and started trusting.

This past year also taught me the importance of grace for myself when I didn’t get it right, and grace for others when expectations weren’t met. I learned that rest is not a reward but a requirement, and that saying “no” can be just as powerful as saying “yes.” Most importantly, 2025 showed me that God’s timing is still perfect, even when it doesn’t align with my own.

As I step into the new year, I’m choosing priorities over resolutions. Resolutions often feel rigid and rooted in pressure to do more, be more, and fix everything. Priorities, feel intentional and life-giving. They allow room for growth without guilt and progress without perfection.

My priorities for the year ahead are simple but meaningful: to protect my peace, nurture my faith, and remain present in the moments that matter most. I want to prioritize alignment over approval, obedience over obligation, and consistency over comparison. Instead of striving to become a completely new version of myself, I’m committed to becoming a more grounded, faithful, and intentional one.

This new year isn’t about proving anything, it’s about becoming. Becoming wiser, softer, stronger, and more anchored in purpose. I’m walking forward carrying the lessons of 2025, not as baggage, but as wisdom.

So here’s to the year ahead: may we move forward with clarity, courage, and compassion. May we release what no longer serves us and embrace what calls us higher. And may we choose priorities that align with who we are becoming, not just who the world tells us to be.

Cheers to a new year and to walking into it with intention.

Live Fearless and With Intention!

“For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

‭‭~I Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Hello family! Let me ask you this, have you ever looked at your life and wondered, “Why would God choose someone like me?” If so, you’re not alone. The scripture I’m sharing with you today speaks directly to that feeling.

1 Corinthians 15:9-10 is a powerful reminder that God’s grace doesn’t just cover us, it transforms us.

In verse 9, Paul shows that he understood what like to have a past that didn’t align with his present assignment. He once persecuted the very church he later helped build. Maybe you’re carrying something today…regret, shame, insecurity, or a feeling that God couldn’t possibly use someone like you.

Also, please remember that Grace is not about who you were. It’s about who God is.

In verse 10, Paul is showing us that grace doesn’t excuse us from purpose, it empowers us for it. When God places His grace on your life, it shifts the trajectory of your story. It turns weakness into strength, doubt into confidence, and past mistakes into powerful testimony.

God doesn’t just call the qualified, he qualifies the called.

If you’ve been questioning your worth, your calling, or your place in God’s plan, let this verse settle in your heart today:

You are not who your past says you are.

You are who God’s grace is shaping you to be.

And His grace always comes with purpose.

Reflection Question:

Where in your life have you been disqualifying yourself when God has already extended grace?

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for Your grace that finds me, changes me, and carries me. Help me to stop viewing myself through the lens of my past and to embrace who You are calling me to be. Strengthen me to walk boldly in my purpose, knowing that Your grace is working in and through me. Amen.

This week, whenever doubt creeps in, speak this truth over yourself:

“By the grace of God, I am who He says I am.”

Write it down, whisper it in prayer, or declare it until your heart believes it.

Live Faithfully and Aligned with Purpose,

Sassy State of Mind💋…You Are More Powerful Than You Think

Hello my Sassy family! Have you ever felt powerless?

I have—more times than I’d like to admit. There have been seasons in my life where I underestimated my power, not because I didn’t have any, but because I got lost in how others see me or comparing myself to others. I allowed people’s perceptions of me to define my worth, placing myself in a box I didn’t belong in. I dimmed my light, silenced my voice, and questioned my own value—all because I forgot that I had power to begin with.

This quote is a reminder that personal power begins in the mind. Too often, people accept limitations that were never truly theirs—whether imposed by fear, society, past mistakes, or self-doubt.

We must reflect on the silent ways we surrender our influence and how reclaiming our power starts with believing in our worth, voice, and ability to create change.

You don’t have to be in a position of status to make an impact. Your thoughts, choices, and courage matter. Recognizing that you do have power—right now—is the first step toward living boldly, authentically, and purposefully.

Stop waiting for permission to be powerful. You already are.

Live fearless!

Love always,

The Hidden Treasure Within

Hey, Sassy Squad!  Lately, I’ve been reflecting on how God is revealing more of who I truly am—the person He created me to be. He’s been reminding me that I am wonderfully unique, with hidden treasure inside that only He could place there. Today, I want to share this message with anyone who feels not enough or insignificant: YOU carry hidden treasure within you too!

That treasure is waiting to be uncovered and shared with the world, but it’s all in God’s perfect timing. Remember, He made us each one-of-a-kind— with special gifts, quirks, and talents. These are the treasures that only we can bring to the world. Your hidden treasure is directly tied to your purpose, and it is meant to be used for His glory. It’s crucial that we don’t get lost in comparing ourselves to others or live inauthentically. Instead, we must refocus on embracing who God created us to be and realign ourselves with the purpose He has set for us.

I remember a time when I believed my value was defined by others’ perceptions or by being in a romantic relationship. I often wondered why I never quite fit in, why I wasn’t chosen by a crush, or why the love I gave wasn’t always reciprocated. There was a time when I even felt unworthy of love or value. But looking back, as I began my journey of self-love and healing, God revealed to me that He loves me unconditionally, wants the best for me, and was protecting my hidden treasure all this time. The wrong person will never recognize the value of your treasure because they’re not worthy of safeguarding it.

This is why it’s so important not to rush the process or feel anxious about being discovered—if your treasure falls into the wrong hands, it can prevent you from living as your true best self and hinder you from walking boldly in your purpose.

We must recognize and wholeheartedly embrace our worth, trusting that God will lead us to the right person who will enhance, honor, and protect our value, just as God showers us with unconditional love.

Live Fabulously and Embrace Your Worth!

Love,

Ronni Lauren

Soul Food 🙏🏾🪴💗… Stay Focused on the Vision: Setting Your Mind on Things Above

In a world full of distractions, it’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture—especially when life throws challenges our way. But if there’s one thing that can keep us grounded, clear, and purpose-driven, it’s setting our minds on things above. The Bible calls us to do this in Colossians 3:2: “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

When we focus on heavenly things, we align ourselves with God’s divine plan and the vision He has revealed to us. This spiritual focus doesn’t just help us navigate life’s ups and downs, it positions us to receive the fullness of what God has in store for us. Here’s why keeping our minds fixed on God’s promises is the key to staying focused on the vision He has for our lives.

1. Heavenly Focus Aligns You with God’s Purpose

When God gives us a vision, it’s a glimpse of His purpose for us. But earthly distractions—worries, fears, doubts—can easily cloud that vision. When we fix our minds on things above, we take our attention off temporary concerns and place it on eternal promises. The more we focus on God’s Word, His will, and the truth of who He is, the clearer our vision becomes.

The vision God has for us is often greater than what we can see with our natural eyes. It involves trusting Him to lead us step-by-step, guided by His wisdom, strength, and grace. By setting our minds on heavenly things, we grow in confidence that God’s plan is unfolding in our lives, and we stay anchored in the certainty that His vision will come to pass.

2. It Strengthens Your Faith

The journey to fulfilling God’s vision requires faith—faith to step into the unknown, faith to keep going when things get tough, and faith to trust that God is working all things together for your good. By focusing on things above, we strengthen our faith because we’re reminded of God’s greatness, His promises, and His faithfulness in the past.

When your thoughts are consumed with heavenly things, they become a constant reminder of God’s power and ability to accomplish His will in your life. Just as Hebrews 12:2 tells us to “fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,” setting our minds on Him keeps our trust in His provision and purpose.

3. It Helps You Overcome Distractions

Life is filled with distractions, and sometimes they come in the form of discouragement, comparison, or even worldly pursuits. It’s easy to become fixated on things that don’t align with the vision God has placed in our hearts. But when we set our minds on things above, we’re able to sift through distractions and focus on what truly matters.

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus teaches us, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” When we seek God’s kingdom and His purpose above all else, everything else falls into place. The more we focus on Him, the less time and energy we waste on things that don’t contribute to His plan for our lives.

4. It Provides Peace and Direction

Focusing on heavenly things brings a sense of peace that surpasses understanding. In the midst of uncertainty, focusing on God’s promises gives us direction and clarity. We may not always know how everything will unfold, but when we set our minds on things above, we trust that God will lead us through the process.

Isaiah 26:3 assures us that, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in you.” When we keep our thoughts fixed on God’s will, we remain anchored in His peace, and that peace helps us stay focused on the vision He has given us.

5. It Fuels Your Passion and Purpose

Setting your mind on things above also reignites your passion for the vision God has placed in your heart. As you meditate on God’s goodness and His eternal promises, your heart becomes more aligned with His will. The distractions of the world become less appealing, and the things that truly matter—serving God, loving others, pursuing the calling He’s given you—take center stage.

When you are focused on God’s heavenly promises, your purpose in life becomes clearer, and that clarity will fuel the energy and motivation you need to keep moving forward in faith. You’ll find that you can’t help but press on, knowing that God is at work, shaping you, and preparing you for what lies ahead.

Conclusion: Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

As you continue to walk in the vision God has revealed to you, remember that the key to staying focused is to set your mind on things above. When you focus on God’s promises, His purpose, and His eternal kingdom, you find the strength, clarity, and peace you need to fulfill His vision for your life.

God has incredible plans for you, and He will equip you to walk them out. So, keep your eyes on the prize—on the higher calling God has placed before you. Allow your thoughts to be consumed with His glory, His truth, and His love, and watch as He empowers you to fulfill the vision He has uniquely designed for your life.

Stay focused on the things above, and everything else will fall into place.

Live faithfully and focused!

Love,

Sassy State of Mind💋…Redefining Success Starts Within

Hello my Sassy squad! I came across another quote that I had to share with you. Maya Angelou’s timeless quote, â€śSuccess is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it,” redefines success.

Unlike society’s traditional measures of wealth, status, or external validation, this quote reminds us that true success is deeply personal and rooted in self-acceptance, purpose, and integrity. To “like who yourself” means embracing your authentic self, imperfections and all. It’s about cultivating self-love and living in alignment with your values.

“Liking what you do” emphasizes pursuing work or passions that resonate with your heart and bring you fulfillment, rather than chasing external rewards. Finally, “liking how you do it” highlights the importance of acting with integrity and joy, ensuring that your approach to life reflects who you truly are.

Angelou’s definition encourages us to shift our focus inward, reminding us that real success is about living authentically, finding purpose, and being at peace with how we navigate the world. It’s a call to measure success not by what we achieve but by how fulfilled we feel in our own lives.

Live authentically!

Love,

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you.”

Isaiah 26:3 NKJV

Hi my spiritual family! This scripture was laid on my heart to remind you to always keep your mind on God. In my experience when things are out of control, trusting and centering my mind on God calms me. He always keeps his promises and is the solid rock I can stand on in times when I’m uncertain and unstable. His holy spirit gives you peace that can’t be explained. It empowers you to overcome whatever life throws your way to distract you and cause you to focus on unfortunate circumstances.

Always remember that he is sovereign, bigger than any problem or situation. We must lean into him so that he can reveal the depths of his character to us. By depending on him with our whole hearts, we are surrendering our will and letting go of control over the outcome of the circumstance. This increases our faith in him which gives us the strength to endure until the end of a difficult season. Who will you put your trust in today?

Love Always,

Happy New Year, New Goals, Dreams Revived!

Hi, my Sassy fam! I can’t believe it’s the last day of 2022…Happy New Year!!!  May your year be blessed and overflowing with happiness and abundance. I must say that 2022 was the year of walking into my purpose for me. I started my self-love journey in 2021 and I rediscovered that I am worthy of love and that God intentionally created me just the way I am.

This revelation helped me to walk fearlessly in my purpose to spread God’s love, empower women to live boldly, use their voices, and embrace their beauty inside and out in 2022. I’m so grateful to you all for allowing me to take you along on this purpose journey with me and I hope that we can continue to grow together into who we are destined to become.

I’m amazed at where I am now on my journey and excited about the woman I am becoming. Facing my fears of walking in my purpose has redirected my focus and reignited my drive and determination to make my dreams come true in 2023. I hope that you will be inspired to go after your dreams in the new year. Please be encouraged and know that a delayed dream is not a denial. I am a witness that if God placed a dream in your heart, he will bring it to pass even if it doesn’t manifest when you expect it to.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:14 NIV

Be Blessed!
