โHear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.
From the end of the earth I will cry to You,
When my heart is overwhelmed;
Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For You have been a shelter for me,
A strong tower from the enemy.โ
~Psalm 61:1โ3 (NKJV)
Hello family! Letโs be honest there are days when life just feels heavy. Youโre doing your best to keep it together, but inside, your heart feels overwhelmed. Maybe itโs the endless to-do list, the heartbreak you didnโt see coming, or the quiet moments where you wonder if anyone really understands.
If thatโs you today, take a deep breath because Psalm 61 is your reminder that you donโt have to be strong on your own.
David didnโt hide his struggle. He cried out to God and said, โWhen my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.โ I love that. He wasnโt asking for all the answers; he was asking to be lifted higher above the noise, above the fear, above the weight of it all.
You donโt have to fix every problem or hold everything together. God is your Rock, your Shelter, your Safe Place. Heโs not asking you to do more; Heโs inviting you to rest in Him.
So today, instead of trying to carry it all, take your weary heart and lean into His strength. Let Him lift you higher.
Reflection:
When your heart feels overwhelmed, where do you turn first and how can you remind yourself to turn to God as your Rock and Shelter this week?
Prayer:
When my heart feels heavy and my strength fades, lead me to You; the Rock that is higher than I. Thank You for being my refuge, my shelter, and my safe place. Help me release what I cannot control and rest in Your presence. Remind me that I am never alone, even in my most overwhelmed moments. Strengthen my faith and steady my heart in You.
In Jesusโ name, Amen.
Iโd love to hear from you, Sassy family! ๐
